Freeman School District 33-1

Due to the hazardous weather conditions, the Freeman School District 33-1 facilities will be closed to public access tonight and tomorrow.

Due to inclement weather, there will be no practices or games tomorrow (1-3-2023). The DH scheduled for tomorrow vs. Irene-Wakonda has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 7, 2023. JV games start at noon (girls in ES gym and boys in HS gym), followed by VG then VB in the HS gym.

Flyers JV & Varsity Girls Basketball team travels to Colman tomorrow (12-20-22) to take on the Colman-Egan Hawks. JV game starts at 5:00 PM followed by Varsity. Bus leaves at 2:45 PM. Colman-Egan's LiveStream channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaektAJsmOyS4Y361XrG4TA

Weather related updates: Boys Basketball vs. Canistota scheduled for 12-16-22 has been postponed. Reschedule date TBD. The Warrior wrestling tournament scheduled for 12-17-22 in Plankinton has been cancelled.

The Freeman School District will be closed and the Flyer Friday will be canceled on Friday, December 16th, 2022, due to high winds and blowing snow conditions. All district events scheduled for Friday will be postponed to a later date and the school building will be closed. The temperatures through next week will be very cold. Please make sure that your child dresses warm when they come to school next week. Have a safe and warm weekend!

The Freeman School District will be closed on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, due to the upcoming forecast for high winds and blowing snow. All practices and games are canceled on Thursday and the school building will be closed. The boys basketball games scheduled for Thursday will be postponed to Friday, December 16th. This Friday will not be switched to a regular school day. It will remain a Flyer Friday. Please stay home, stay warm, and stay safe.

The Freeman School District will start 2-hours late on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, due to slippery road conditions. Buses will run 2-hours late and there will be no breakfast served at school tomorrow.

The girls basketball game vs. McCook Central-Montrose scheduled for tonight (12-13-22) in Freeman has been postponed due to no school at both McCook Central and Montrose today. Reschedule date TBD.

Weather related cancellations - The 6th & 7th grade girls BB games scheduled for 12-12-22 (today) in Parkston have been cancelled. The boys BB C games scheduled for 12-13-22 in Freeman vs. KWL have also been cancelled. Other events scheduled for today and tomorrow are still on.

Congratulations to Emily Knodel for placing 7th in Extemporaneous Public Speaking at the State FFA LDE competition on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Pierre. 7th place earned her a bronze medal. Way to go, Emily!

Congratulations to our JH Boys and Girls basketball teams. The boys won the Cornbelt Conference Tournament in Canistota, and the girls took 2nd place at the Cornbelt Conference Tournament in Freeman. Great job to both teams and coaches Thorson and Mueller!
